If you are an Ohio nurse and action is taken against your license with the Ohio Board of Nursing the "Board of Nursing Action against your license" (the actual Consent Agreement or Board Order) can be or will be in the future accessible online via the State of Ohio license verification website. See https://license.ohio.gov/lookup/default.asp?division=86.
Dear Rachael,
Thank you for the comment. I would suggest that you gather your record(s) related to the mayor's court charge and conviction and speak with a license defense attorney (not a criminal defense attorney) about your issue. What you consider minor, a license defense attorney may not consider minor. Minor in terms of criminal convictions is in the eye of the beholder. You say minor and a license defense attorney may say major. Good luck.

almost 10 yrs ago I broke a city ordinance, and had to go to a mayor's court. Im not sure if I was even charged with a misdemeanor, it was very minor, but I did have to pay a fine. Does this sort of thing show up on the BCI?

Dale,
Thank you for the comment. If you don't mind me asking, what's the issue with your BCI background check?

I need a job. Seventeen years of Nursing (RN). Since 2003 the BCI background check has cost me several jobs.
In 1991 I became licensed after having met with the Ohio Board of Nursing. Seventeen years of having a clear and unemcumbered license speaks well of their evaluation of me. At fifty-seven years of age it is a little late to return to school.....not to mention that I love nursing.
The response of the Ohio Board of Nursing, in reference to my economic plight, has not been helpful.
I NEED A JOB! IS THERE HELP?
