I have a few, but I always try to look at them in terms of the big picture.

1. I could have gone straight from undergrad to a master's program. I could have been some bigwig functionary somewhere by now.

2. I could have gone to nursing school my first round through college. I would have been a nurse for 17-18 years already.

I have always had a sense of adventure. While I travelled a bit in college and studied overseas, I didn't have the ability to do all that I wanted after. I guess that's why I worked and switched careers, not once, but twice. I am not afraid to start over and learn something from the ground up.

This made me look back on all the things I've done, and in many ways, all those different jobs have helped me as a nurse, in a lot of ways. I can talk to a lot of people about a lot of stuff and get rapport others can't.

I look back, but I also look forward. If I didn't return to school when I did, I'd probably be unemployed right now. I am so very thankful!

I'll just keep on going...and see where I end up. It's always good to have a plan.
