As I have said before on this blog, with increased scope of practice, comes an increase in responsibility, an increase in accountability, and the potential for an increase in liability.
Nurses are more likely to be seen by plaintiff attorneys now as clinicians exercising professional judgment rather than custodians following physician orders from decades past.
