Its costs a little more than $199.95 to retain an attorney to represent you before the State Nursing Board.
How do attorneys charge for representation?

1. Evergreen retainers;
2. Traditional retainers;
3. Hybrid Agreement is a combination of a flat fee and an hourly rate;
4. Flat Fees; or
5. True retainers.
There is always a risk as a licensed healthcare professional that you may be reported to your licensing Board for whatever reason. If you don't have your OWN professional liability insurance policy with a license defense benefit then you must bear the cost of hiring a private attorney to represent you before the State Nursing Board if you want attorney representation.
If you cannot afford attorney representation before the State Nursing Board you can:
1. Represent, counsel, and advise yourself. Do your research and get up to speed on what you need to do to handle your own case;
2. Seek pro bono assistance. You can contact your State Nurses Association or a license defense attorney to see if your case can be handled on a reduced fee basis.
