OBN E*News 09/07/2010 - Committee on Practice Scheduled for Thursday September 23, 2010 at 12:00 p.m.

The Board of Nursing (Board)  will convene a Committee on Practice at 12:00 p.m. Thursday September 23, 2010 at the Board's offices located at 17 South High Street, Suite 400 in Columbus, OH  43215.  The Board's Committee on Practice, comprised of Board members, is meeting to discuss the use of the title “Advanced Practice Registered Nurse” to replace “Advanced Practice Nurse” and review scopes of practice for the certified nurse practitioner and the clinical nurse specialist. The Board invites licensees and interested parties to attend this public meeting and to provide commentary on the committee subjects of title and scopes of practice.  

Written comments may be sent by either email to [email protected] or by regular US Mail at the above address. Please place "Board Committee" in the subject line of the email or on the mailed envelope.   Written comments received by the Board by the close of business Monday September 20, 2010 will be forwarded to the Committee members for their review prior to the meeting.  

The Board convenes a Committee on Practice as needed to discuss specific practice issues and to make recommendations to the Board concerning the nursing practice.
